About the Position:

Waco Cardiology Associates is seeking a dynamic, self-driven and results-focused organizational leader to serve as our Chief Executive Officer. This position requires an experienced medical practice executive who is an astute analyst and strategic thinker with strong financial acumen. Founded in 1971, WCA is an independent, 12 cardiologist medical practice located in central Texas. WCA provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art cardiovascular care including a full suite of IAC accredited diagnostic testing modalities, office-based cath lab/ambulatory surgery center and cardiac device clinic.

Job Summary:

The CEO maintains broad responsibility and accountability for operational management, financial management, human resource management, organizational governance, compliance, marketing and strategic planning. This position develops a culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability and performance with a shared vision for the future.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Directs and implements the practice’s mission and strategic plan to achieve operational excellence and financial goals

· Provides visible and approachable leadership, enhancing working relationships among staff and physicians

· Develops and updates organizational design, management and processes for maximum productivity, efficiency and cost effectiveness

· Identifies, evaluates and implements new service lines that positively impact cardiovascular care

· Develops a public relations and marketing program which includes outreach, social media and education

· Ensures financial viability through oversight of revenue cycle performance

· Engages with payers to negotiate contracts which appropriately compensate the practice based on high quality and cost-effective care provided

· Maintains open lines of communication with staff and physicians to promote a positive work environment

· Supports organizational dynamics that drive exceptional patient experience

· Strives to continually improve performance through process improvement activities and promotion of best practices throughout the practice

· Supports professional growth and development through orientation, evaluation and mentoring of staff

· Identifies opportunities to enhance market share and financial position through development of partnerships, affiliations and growth strategies

· Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, rules and standards governing healthcare delivery

· Represents the practice in its relationships with other healthcare organizations, governmental agencies, payers, legal counsel and the media

· Establishes and maintains positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Educational/Experience Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration or related field required

· Advanced degree in Health or Business Administration strongly preferred

· Minimum of 7 years of progressive healthcare management experience required. Cardiovascular experience preferred.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Knowledge of business plan and strategic plan development and implementation

· Knowledge of finance, clinical practice operations, marketing, human resource management and public relations in healthcare

· Knowledge and thorough understanding of the healthcare regulatory environment including the ability to analyze and interpret complex federal and state laws, rules and regulations

· Thorough understanding of contract negotiation/management

· Skill in ex2ercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve the practice’s mission

· Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, shareholders, the medical community, policymakers and payers

· Strong communication skills with ability to work effectively with all levels of staff in a collaborative team environment

· Skill in organizing work, delegating, and taking appropriate business risks to achieve goals

· Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and change

· Ability to build consensus across departmental lines

· Ability to identify trends and motivate workforce to embrace change needed to adapt to external forces

Office hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm
